Our Yr 10 Football team successfully negotiated a potentially tricky trip with a comfortable 5-1 win over Mr Southall’s Harris team in the Cup.
Missing a couple of 1st team players and with some last minute sign ups, we dominated possession and territory through out and only had ourselves to blame as we only led 1-0 at the break. An early Armstrong cracker in the second half eased any tension, and relentless pressure, notably from Oscar Bailey, kept that chances flowing. Morgan Jones was able to profit from a fabulous ball from George Pope, and a fortunate deflection to bring up his hat-trick.
A momentary lap from our otherwise solid defence, and a well taken speculative shot, suggested a way back in for the Harris team. Man of the Match, Oscar Bailey, however, had other ideas. A trade mark bustling run down the right took him past 3 players and through on goal. Keeping his nerve, Oscar smashed the ball emphatically into the net past a rooted Harris keeper to complete our scoring and secure the game.
Hopefully we’ll be back to full strength for the next round, but the team today did the Year group proud. Well done, Lads.
